December 2025 – PhD student Olumide Ajulo has been selected to participate in the inaugural PA Water Environment Association (PWEA) InFLOW Program, which is designed to introduce emerging professionals to the water industry. Way to go, Olumide!

December 2025 – Dr. Forgione presented her work on microplastics at AGU in New Orleans and had her paper “Initiating environmental microplastics analysis: A review and planning guide with practical insights from laboratory implementation” accepted in Science of the Total Environment. Brava, Dr. Forgione!

November 2025 – Dr. Good visited a kindergarten class for a lesson on rain gardens and the water cycle, where toys were used to demonstrate hydrologic routing.

October 2025 – Drs. Good and Forgione visited Abington Friends School’s LabEx Program to talk to high school students about Civil Engineering.

October 2025 – Dr. Good shared her thoughts on coal-fired power plant wastewater discharges and their effect on downstream drinking water with E&E News.

September 2025 – PhD student Mike Burns successfully defended his doctoral dissertation – congratulations, Dr. Burns!

June 2025 – For the 3rd year in a row, Dr. Good co-organized a weeklong Summer Engineering Academy for one of Villanova’s summer outreach programs (VIEW).

May 2025 – Dr. Good presented and organized a session at AEESP2025 at Duke University.

May 2025 – The Good Research Group was well-represented at PA-AWWA’s Fresh Ideas student poster competition, with undergrad, MS, and PhD students sharing their work across four posters. Congrats to PhD student Katie Ferry and MS student Emma Robert on placing 1st and 2nd, respectively!

May 2025 – Dr. Good and CEE colleagues hosted local middle school students for a morning of outreach activities in our new laboratory spaces.

March 2025 – PhD student Nayeon Kwak received an Outstanding Student Poster Award from the Hydrology Section at AGU Fall Meeting. Congratulations, Nayeon!

December 2024 – The Good Research Group was active at AGU Fall Meeting in DC with two posters, three talks, and lots of learning and networking.

June 2024 – After becoming the Good Research Group’s first graduating student, MS student Nayeon Kwak had her first paper come out. Congratulations, Nayeon!

May 2024 – PhD student Mike Burns and MS students Nayeon Kwak and Bridget Neumann (pictured) presented their research posters at the PA-AWWA Annual Conference. Nayeon and Mike placed 1st and 3rd, respectively.

April 2024 – Dr. Good was selected for the HydroLearn fellows program where she will participate in the Cooperative Institute for Research to Operations in Hydrology (CIROH) Summer Hackathon in Salt Lake City, UT and the virtual workshop that follows.

July 2023 – PhD student Mike Burns was awarded an Instrumentation Discovery Travel Grant from the Consortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Science (CUAHSI) to learn about application of atmospheric principles and instrumentation.

May 2023 – Congratulations to MS student Nayeon Kwak on placing second in the poster contest at the Pennsylvania Section – American Water Works Association (PA-AWWA) annual conference

March 2023 – Dr. Good shared her thoughts on the chemical spill in the Delaware River with WHYY.

December 2022 – Dr. Kelly Good, along with Drs. Steven Goldsmith, Peleg Kremer, and Virginia Smith, were awarded a Villanova Research Catalyst Grant for their project: “Evaluating the prevalence and environmental implications of microplastics and metals co-contamination at green stormwater infrastructure sites.”
